This is the summary proposal.
Part 1 - In this data sheet, you can see 3 phases. I am only raising funds for Phase I. Cost: INR 10.500.000 (SG1500)
These funds are going to be used to purchase 5000 shoots of Lemon Grass. Then planted on 1 hectare of land. In Phase II, upon the crop maturity, local farmers will split the shoots from 1 hectare to the next 4 hectares. In Phase III, upon all 5 hectares maturity, they will split again to the next 10 hectares. I will be doing periodic checks to ensure our funds are used for the intended purposes.
The grand plan is to generate funds from these 15 hectares for long term sustenance. We will harvest the Serai leaves for boiling and condense into Serai cooking oil and part of it used to produce a Serai syrup. The Serai essence is known to be able to get rid of heatiness and give good flavoring to cooking. I will be looking at ways to commercially export these products. More updates will come along the way in this aspect.
The profits from these Serai products will be given as income to the families who helped at the fields. A part used to construct a school compound right at the village area. This is a low cost project which can give rise to several improvements along the way. There is a progressive plan which i had compiled from the last 6 visits.

I went for an inspection as part of a follow up visit and you can see from the picture that the land is prep ready for planting.

Part 2 - Sunter Provision Giving project for 144 poor families at Jakarta in collaboration with Pondok Ozanam. Cost: INR 7.000.000 (SG1000)
Pondok Ozanam has been in support to this families in 2 ways, sales of food provisions at 25% of it's cost and from the proceeds a savings account for every family.
How this works?
Basically, these families are selected base on the condition of their housing which are usually measured 2m by 4m. Then food provisions are sold to them in a weekly basis at only 25% of its cost. The monies are then saved for them in a savings account which is recorded and then given back to them at the end of the year.
This time round, we are doing a partnership with Pondok Ozanam as we are only catering 1000 SGD which is only about 7 SGD per family.

Part 3 - Visit to 3 orphanages in Pontianak. Cost: 7.000.000 (SGD1000)
We just completed this visit in Jan 2012 but did not give a lot. Only about 270 SGD per orphanage.
This time round i plan to organize another round which is about 333 SGD per orphanage. While heading to Sarikan, we will visit these orphanages.
